Steve Gonzalez, Ed.D.

Overview
With over 30 years of experience in the fields of mental health and education, Dr. Steve Gonzalez has been deeply engaged in expanding comprehensive strategies to promote Social and Emotional Learning (SEL) and well-being.
He has played a leading role in advancing the implementation of Positive Behavioral Interventions and Supports (PBIS) and Multi-Tiered Systems of Support (MTSS) in schools, providing training and consultation to educators both within and beyond California. Through these efforts, he has contributed to the dissemination of evidence-based practices that support children’s well-being.
In addition, Dr. Gonzalez has established strong partnerships with world-renowned research institutions, including the University of Oregon and Stanford University, further developing initiatives that introduce effective strategies into educational settings.
In this keynote lecture, drawing on his extensive experience, Dr. Gonzalez will discuss effective approaches to SEL implementation in Japan, collaboration between schools and local communities, and practical strategies for realizing well-being across the lifespan.
This session offers a valuable opportunity to learn directly from cutting-edge global research and practice, as well as to engage in discussion with fellow participants. Those interested in SEL and school-based well-being support are warmly encouraged to attend.
